Travel Beyond the Horizon

I’ve spent my life studying the stars so I can show you the world in a different light. Join me, Mike Lipton, for expert-led expeditions to Earth’s darkest skies and brightest celestial events.

About Mike Lipton

Most people look at a map to decide where to go next. I look at the sky.

My name is Mike Lipton, and my obsession with the cosmos didn't start with a plane ticket—it started in a dark backyard with a rickety refractor telescope and a dog-eared copy of a star atlas. While other kids were dreaming of being center-fielders, I was tracking the phases of Venus and waiting for the rings of Saturn to tilt just right.

For me, space isn't just a vacuum; it’s the ultimate destination.

The Man Behind the Lens (and the Telescope)

I spent years traveling the world the "traditional" way before I realized that the most breathtaking sights weren't on the horizon—they were above it. In an age where 80% of the world lives under light-polluted skies, I founded Lipton Travel to help people reclaim their connection to the universe.

I believe that travel should do more than just change your latitude; it should change your perspective. Whether we’re chasing the Solar Maximum auroras in the Arctic Circle or standing in the shadow of the moon during a Total Solar Eclipse, I’m here to ensure you aren't just "there," but that you truly see it.

My Mission in 2026 and Beyond

We are currently living through a golden age of astronomy. With 2026 bringing us the peak of the solar cycle and a historic eclipse across Europe, there has never been a better time to look up.

My goal is to bridge the gap between high-end travel and deep-space wonder. I don't just find you a hotel; I'll find you a hotel with a Bortle 1 sky rating and a glass roof.

Life is short, but the universe is infinite. Let’s go see it together.

Some of my Highlights

  • First Celestial Memory: Witnessing a lunar eclipse from my driveway as a kid.

  • Favorite Dark Sky Spot: The high Altiplano of the Atacama Desert.

  • Dream Destination: A research station in Antarctica during the winter (strictly for the stars, not the cold!).

  • Essential Gear: My modified wide-angle lens and a very thermos of very strong coffee. to site visitors.
